Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Would be interesting how different views would be if countries like Canada were top 3 and Italy 250th in world ranking

I wasn't mentioning in any sort of aggressive way @S. That's exactly what I mean, people should find what is, and isn't for them, and go from there.

I'm sure that would have a large effect. Like I said I can't even name a single player on the Canadian national team. However if Dybala or Messi were on that team it would definitely change things. If Canada actually had a shot at winning the World Cup I am sure you would see alot more Canadians wearing their jerseys and such. That's just how it is.

So Spalletti didn't rest anyone, going with a narrow Inter win then.

rincon wrote:Also with sport I don't think we should be so serious. No one here is from Turin and we all support Juve. Even most Italians who support Juve are not from Turin. Same with NTs, if you like their play, or whatever else about them, then its fine to follow them imo. I assume M99 is not Brazilian but he likes them so who cares?
I have no particular love for Switzerland yet I would like Licht to succeed. He is the same guy I root for every weekend after all.
Brah this is what my country looks like during World Cups.
Its hard to explain, football is a huge part of the culture here but we have nationalistic pride too (look at the national team cricket fandom). I never remember choosing Brazil, I've been a fan as long as I can remember. But if Bangladesh ever played Brazil/Argentina, everyone would root for Bangladesh, no questions asked.

@rincon, since I made the Napoli thread, you'll have to make the "whom'st'd've will stop Inter from winning the Scudetto?" thread
Inter looking comfortably good, last three games were: Milan, Napoli away and Sampdoria and they'll finish with 7 points and just two goals against (if this result holds). Unreal

Should not have been a nailbiter, but leave it to Inter to make it one.

I am that less passionate among Serie A fans here about Nazionale and I am the only one Italian , the world is weird mate
Life of death just for my Club
*bleep* hate international football nowadays lol. I actively avoid all but the World Cups because at least that has hype. Couldn't care less if every non Juve Italian played like utter shit.

agreed
I think the NT break is the most annoying ever. It gives me an unreal nausea , such as when I went out with a girl and then I discovered she voted for far right
Wc is good because it happens in summer (but for example I am going to hate winter WC in Qatar.. forgive me ES ) and so it is good reason of hobby..of course I support Italy because it is my NT, never had doubts .. but well..I still prefer Inter to win Coppa Italia than Italy to win WC
Even if I celebrated it much in '06 but I don't support Nt to same way now. It is just the love for club that can't change for me

Understandable to see Robes's love for NT erode when Vieri gets replaced by Eder and World Cups be replaced by group stage trophies tbh
