I actually came to visit the right back section and predicted that the ever-so predictable Crointer would post spot in the middle of this topic after his goal against CSKA. So predictable. :coffee:

Point is, the nail in the coffin was done before this thread was started as Matri simply is just more of a complete striker while Pazzogol is a better goalscorer and instinctive finisher.

Its nice to see Ranieri put his faith in Pazzo as I've said it time and time again, if he is played to his strengths, he will reward his team.

Excellent performance by him today.

Prandelli has said it before. Only players who are playing first team football will receive a call up. For the past 5 weeks he hasn't . But that doesn't mean he isn't better than Pazzini.

Actually, Balotelli has been starting as of late. And Bonucci was called up because there is no one else in Italy who fits the "young" and "talented" requirements of this new Italy.

As of late? You mean one last game this entire season? And only starting coz Dzeko got into fight with manager.

"young" and "talented" Salvatore Bocchetti and Angelo Ogbonna, no one else you say but Bonucci?

Matri is not good enough for Italy and there are better options for his place, thats the reason he isnt even backup for 23 man squad, and not coz he is not full time 1st team now, he played more then Balotelli this season, and i think even more then Pazzini, Pazzini had almost no playing time under Gasp.

Admittedly, Italia were in at that point, and judging by Prandelli's decisions to call up obscure choices during qualifications such as Mauri, etc. he did the same here. Osvaldo was not really doing as well as he is now during qualifications, so I am assuming his Roma move got him into the path of Prandelli, and thus he chose him, albeit late, as an experimental choice. Osvaldo recognized it as well.

Grosso is very talented, as is Bonucci [especially in comparison to Ranocchia] and I never really rated Lucio outside of the Treble year.

My logic? Im not saying Pazzo>Matri coz he is playing and the other one is not, im sayin it coz he scores goals he gets invited to NT while poor Matri can only watch Italy on Tv.

As for Pazzo playing in "near-relegation team", nop, its more like he plays for CL team, while Matri is playing for mediocore teams for years now...
