It does look like a "let's try our luck" appointment, Chelsea probably the only club that might do that.

But while most football followers are probably not backing Benitez to great things at Chelsea, let's see how he does. We know he has achieved fantastic things before, if not at his every job.

You know what beyond hilarious? The fact that this forum has their head so far up their ass on their thoughts that Benitez is a mediocre manager whereas the fact is he is one the best tacticians in the world. Yes he has his eccentric quirks and isn't the most endearing to some players yet a man who has outclassed so many top managers and multiple times at that whilst building a superb future foundation for Liverpool.....oh wait..I don't expect any of you geniuses to understand.

My bet is Rafa will be successful enough for Chelsea to give him a whole new long term contract. My only doubt for that is since their corrupt billionaire doesn't know the slightest thing about football, he will be far to impulsive and blind to see how brilliant Rafa really is. If Rafa is given the time, flexibility and resource within Chelsea, they can easily turn into one of the elite clubs in Europe. Mark my words people will be eating their words about Rafa.

As for the appointment, I am thoroughly disappointed in Rafa given that this chance taken is a bout of hypocrisy from him. Yet given how desperate he was for a job, how Liverpool treated him after Kenny was sacked and how Sampdoria and Milan rejected his voice mails, I can understand (but not agree) with his wanting to satiate his needs to challenge himself again.

Oh yea, once again, Rafa will be a success.

Benitez is class, He won la liga twice without managing Barca or Madrid . Won a Champions league with Liverpool, just look at the state of Liverpool ever since he has left they still miss him. He bought quality players such as Alonso, Agger, Torres, (the old torres), He also taught Gerrard how to play football. The man is a good manager and deserves to be treated with respect, he might do well and Chelsea will fluke their way into another Champions league final
