Maybe because 2008 is when Ozil graduated from the U19 teams hmm

It doesn't make sense to include 2007, a year Ozil played less than 15 games in.

Don't want to get into this discussion again (check out the POTY thread if you want). Disregarding POTY discussions and going by talent + performances there isn't a player in the EPL that can touch Ozil right now.

He's by quite some distance the best player in the league

Why do you say that?? Those two have turned up in pretty much every single tough game Leicester have play. Vardy nearly broke RVN's goal record too

To me it is probably Vardy, Özil, Mahrez in that order for now. Things can obviously change over the next couple of months. Whoever wins the trophy between Arsenal and Leicester will have one of their players as the POTY

Simply because I've watched a lot of Ozil this year. The level he's playing at is up there only behind the best of the best (MSN etc) right now. Based on the eye test, he's just a lot better than everyone else in the EPL.

That's not to take anything away from Vardy or Mahrez. On this season alone then yes I have to rate Vardy very highly (I do think that people aren't giving him the respect he deserves for his performances this season) but on the whole, he's just not a top striker. There is a reason it's taken him this long to burst onto the scene. Full credit to him, but again, I said talent + performances. Mahrez on the other hand has bags of talent and has the performances to back it up, and he's a great player and has been one of the best in the league this year, but he's just not Ozil.

All credit to Mahrez what he's doing with Leicester is great and deserves praise but put him in Arsenal and he's not doing what Ozil is doing. Talent wise Ozil kills Mahrez and performance wise he's been as good if not better.

I again, will not comment on anything regarding EPL POTY. Too early to start those discussions anyway and I regret doing so in the other thread because it's a dumb award and it's far too soon to discuss it anyway.
