Re: Champions League Qualifiers 2014/15
Bull shit, these rules are not crystal clear, and are simply not written well. Nowhere does it say that a suspended player must be named within the 23 squad.
Any big team would have moved by with a fine. This is obvious favoritism towards a richer club, and its not even funny.

To serve a suspension you must be registered to play. It's in the rules. We are hardly a powerhouse that UEFA would try and bend the rules to suit either.

Re: Champions League Qualifiers 2014/15
A suspended player doesn't have to be named in a 23 man squad but if you want to use him in the competition, he needs to be registered. And for his suspension to end, he has to be registered to play.
The rules are quite clear on this though.

Article 18 General Provisions wrote:In order to be eligible to participate in the UEFA club competitions, players must be registered with UEFA within the requested deadlines to play for a club and fulfill all the conditions set out in the following provisions. Only eligible players can serve pending suspensions.

Damn and here I thought Celtic were a secret Illuminati organization. Turns out an incompetent team who can't even follow the rules is just getting the agreed upon standard punishment lol

Legia Warsaw ask Celtic for one-off tie for a play-off match to decide who plays in the Champions league

Yea. Saw the letter on FB page of Legia. Pretty odd, but understandable. You guys have no idea how big of a deal and tragedy this whole thing has been in Poland

Re: Champions League Qualifiers 2014/15
It's BS what happened to Legia although partly down to their stupidity
If I was in Celtics position I wouldn't agree to any play off either though
The SPL is shite and the chance at CL revenue $$$$ is much more important than the respect of some random club.

I must admit, I've lost any sympathy I had for Legia after the way they've reacted to this.

The letter asked for a boardroom meeting in Glasgow or Warsaw. Not a rematch.

If they're real, proud Scottish men Celtic agree to a showdown match.

Re: Champions League Qualifiers 2014/15
Celtic FC wrote one of the most beautiful pages in the history of European football, when in 1967 they unexpectedly defeated in the final of the Champions Cup mighty Inter Milan headed by Helenio Herrera.
"Imagine that Jock Stein and Billy McNeill were deprived of the greatest triumph in their athletic career by completing the application form wrong.
ffs there was need to remind it
Anyway lol , not even UEFA would accept this new play off imo

Re: Champions League Qualifiers 2014/15
It would be pretty cool if Celtic accepted, from a publicity stand point it would be worth doing since something like this has never happened before. I know I would tune in to watch it
However rewarding Leiga for their incompetence is stupid imo. If a player is ineligible he shouldn't play, if Madrid or Barca did this everyone in the world would be demanding that they get disqualified.

If Napoli win, it's decent for Serie A
if they lose, Juve and Roma get a fat cut of CL money between them

What sympathy? I'm pretty sure you'd be crying for a rematch at least right now if it happened to celtic. C'mon, on a sporting level you didn't deserve to be there, so you SHOULD have sympathy for them, smh.

Just played with Bilbao on fifa. There is no way Napoli are losing to them lol. They just have a strong mentality at home. Napoli have a better team in every way

Have to agree. Played with both teams on seasons and Napoli are far more fluid and dangerous.
