Curtinho wrote:Mane is not on the same level as Mkhi as of now, and how is Zlatan not still world class? He's coming off arguably his most impressive season to date.
Aye Zlatan did have a tremendous season, but you have to also consider certain factors, like the team he was playing in and the quality of the opponents he was facing. Barring 2 or 3 decent teams they have like 15 or 16 teams the level of West Brom or Aston Villa out there in France.
Only deluded United fans will think he will replicate that sort of form in the PL.
As for Mane v Micky, Mane will have a coach who will suit his style like a T with pool. He is only 24 and still hasnt hit his peak where as Micky is 27 and is playing at his peak currently. Mind you Mick was nowhere near this level when he was 24. There isnt much there. Micky might be ahead but only just. Furthermore theres the challenge of adapting to the new league and everything for him.

Neither the club nor the fans want or like him. Seems like nobody else wants him either. We might just terminate his contract and pay him off if he doesn't go anywhere else.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2016 || Klopp Loses His Virginity
Patience people. Baby steps. Why are people still stressing out?
We finally have someone competent in charge. For the love of god, Brendan's gone people, calma.
There's 2 main things to take from this window:
Selling players / getting rid of deadwood - An important thing to take from this window / first under Klopp is the fact that we're not getting bullied in the market anymore. 15m for Ibe. Demanding 30m+ for Benteke, nothing less. Rejecting low-ball bids for Luis Alberto. We're showing good signs, and again just proves how good a competent manager can be.
Losing out on our "key" targets - We moved on from Gotze rejecting us early. The amount of times we wanted a "target" and stalled under Brendan was ridiculous. Costa, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, the list goes on. He never learned from it. We wasted so much time in the market and ended up with a player that was either completely different in style / position / quality every single time. And then always cried about it citing the player as a scapegoat.
As for the Mane doubts. Yes, Mane cost a lot. But A) that's the current market and B) more importantly, he actually FITS into Klopp's philosophy and a player we desperately need. He presses a lot. He's a goal threat. He's not scared to run at the opposition. He's actually a winger / a role / position we actually crave. Having him (with Markovic as a back up / rotation) will do wonders for us this coming season. He offers us a different aspect in the final third. Having Lallana, Firminho (umad?) and Coutinho in the final third was solid but it wasn't the best - they were all too central / wanted to occupy the same space; Mane will offer something different.
Don't get me wrong, I do have doubts with him too, he's no real world beater and he does remain inconsistent but Klopp has an eye for talent, and will definitely improve his game, have some faith. At the end of the day, he's probably in the same group as Coutinho... where on his day he can be very very good but just lacks that consistency. I expect that to be taken the wrong way but haters gonna hate.
The window has only been open for less than 2 weeks. The Euros is still going on. Pre season pretty much has just started and everyone is only just back from holidays.
Oh, and Sakho is free to play. Liverpool country is going to have an exciting season.
Also unpopular opinion: I hope Mario Balotelli gets given a chance.

Nice post BTW
Not that I have watched Mane very often, but he seems to be a player who wants to cut-in from the wings.red alert wrote:they were all too central / wanted to occupy the same space; Mane will offer something different.

How would you feel if Spurs rope Gotze???
Echo wrote:Liverpool are out of the race to sign Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze.
The Germany international is expected to leave the Allianz Arena with Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund keen on wrapping up a £20million deal.
However, the Reds, who had targeted Gotze earlier in the summer, won’t be vying for his signature.

Canos 2.5m + 2m
Ibe 15m
Skrtel 5.5m
Ibe and Skrtel should be announced today.
That's nearly 25m from 3 squad players with two having buy back clauses, Im satisfied.
Ibe 15m
Skrtel 5.5m

Heard rumour about Rodgers wanting Allen at Celtic. Hope Liverpool don't lose the only player in squad that knows how to pass ball.

Klopp doesnt like him as much, Only hoping he returns early for pre season so that he's able to establish the fact again that he's the most intelligent with the ball.

After so much hype about Ibe, I am little sad that he could not straight away get into starting XI. I hope he developes well and comes back as a better player.

iftikhar wrote:Although we will sign another 2-3 players, I believe the focus for reminder of the transfer window will be on clearing out.
1. Bogdan: Decent player, signed for free and not on high salary, should be easy.
2. Wisdom: Decent player, didn't cost much and not on high salary, should be easy.3. Skrtel: Reportedly off to Turkey.
4. Ilori: Should be easy, if we accept peanuts.
5. Alberto: Several Spanish clubs will be interested, but we shouldn't expect more than £3-4 mil.
6. Lucas: Will have enough suitors and can be sold for a decent sum. Question is, should we?
7. Allen: Will have enough suitors and can be sold for a good bargain. Question is, should we?8. Ibe: I can see many mid-table clubs wanting him but none willing to pay more than £3-4 mil, fair deal???
9. Markovic: Should be easy, if we accept £7-8 mil; fair deal???
10. Baloteli:
11. Benteke: Reportedly refused a £25 mil offer and holding out for £30 mil.
