Pogba is the worst 120m € player out there

Of course you would, you seem to like collecting hyped midfielders that actually suck over at Bayern nowadays

The stuff Nick's saying gets mentioned all of the time, I used to agree with them but seeing Pogba unable to do footballing basics week in week out has scrubbed that excuse away for me IMO

It's either he's not 1/10th of the player he was claimed to be or he just doesn't put in any effort at United at all

Footballing fundamentals is indeed the correct word.

Once again his frailties are ignored due to his more sensational skills which come in the form of his shots or wayward runs but simple things like shielding the ball, scouting space when crowded, turn of pace or terrible defense puts SAF in the reason for not truly paying attention to his talent, and Pogs had the gall to challenge him on such omission. Somehow he manages to be the complete opposite of say, Micheal Carrick.

You gotta give it to him though. Him and his agent actually convinced the world he was worth 120m signing fee and 15m salary. He's nowhere close to a world beater but he's getting paid as one.

Mission accomplished as far as he's concerned.

Can you ask Michael Carrick to attack, and to be the type of attacking player Pogba can be? no.

Every player has qualities and weaknesses, it's not Pogba's fault if he is asked to do things that do not fit his best attributes because Mouriho wants him to do something else no?

I like making fun of Pogba as much as the next guy, he is a bit deluded about how good he is, but he is also a legit great player. United have not used him well.

He will leave and he will be good somewhere else. Imagine him at arsenal in that Ramsey role? or at spurs in Alli's position? these are schemes Mourinho will never use but roles which would fit his skill tree a lot better

Given he is backed by Mino Raiola; who is quintessentially the most slimy and at the same time the best agent for his players, it should be no secret at to why clubs are held hostage to the glamour he provides to their eyes in buying them along with a more lucrative contract.

He has been performing this for years with his players.

You are absolutely right Mourinho has not been using him correctly yet the weaknesses he displays week in week out are not a product of his tactical use, but simply lacking basics he did so even with Juventus to which only Italian pundits mentioned often yet clearly not reached to the mainstream media of the Pogba hype that was created in Turin.

That's not actually true Arqi.  The problem with creative players in Mourinho's schemes has been very consistent.  Modric was benched as a result in Madrid and looked horrible.  Ozil started well and then just completely fell apart when Mourinho went full defense.  Di Maria had problems.  Hazard went missing for a whole season.  Martial.  Rashford is having a horrible time.  Lukaku, who isn't technical, can't find his place. Ibra was the only one who's recently done very well and that's because he told Mou to f off with the defending part lol.. and Mou let him get away with it. Even then, the Ibra of Man U was one who scored just due to individual brilliance and the fact that Pogba played well with him. In fact, when Ibra got injured, that's when Pogba pretty much had nothing to work with in terms of technical players. He had Matic and Fellaini, Lukaku up front, Rashford/Lingard as wingers mostly and Young/Shaw/Valencia as the fullbacks. There is so little technique there, it's scary.

The guy just sucks the life out of every attacking player.  The reason?  He will bench you and humiliate you if you leave gaps behind you.  As a result, very few players make runs.  Everyone is looking behind them as opposed to ahead.  So there's literally no movement.  Whoever has the ball for Man U has little to no options.

Manchester United have managed to ruin every single player they signed post Ferguson, look at Herrera, Shaw, Angel Di Maria, Schneiderlin, Falcao, Schweinsteiger, Depay, Martial, Darmian, Mkhitaryan, Bailly, Lukaku, Sanchez.
Pogba is not the only one who couldn't help but look utter shit at this completely dysfunctional club.

Basically not a single signing has improved, a couple have barely managed to hang on to their level like maybe Fellaini and Mata, the other have all deteriorated, and only bounce back once they leave.

Let's not forget Sanchez either...

IMO the signs were there at Arsenal and I was a hater already before his move, but this bad? No.

I stand by it. You won't be able to name one single player signed by Utd who improved at the club. It's not just Mouriho's fault too, even if hiring Mourinho was doubling down on what was already rotten at the club.

Always amazes me when players all consistently get worse under a manager and people try to find excuses for said manager.

This is not the case. Saying he lacked the basics with Juve is just projecting his United clownery onto his past.

The very first thing that jumped out of the screen when Pogba joined us was how this 18 year old was doing everything right as if he was experienced, not the sensational moves he would later do. He earned his spot under Conte by playing it simple and being good at it. His big achievement was fitting in such a good midfield in a more or less seamless way.

Pogba has regressed a lot on his basics. It's definitely a matter of caring, as he already did it well with us. We didn't suffer this laziness and nonchalance from him with failing simple passes and jogging around.

Big Mourinho fault as everything in United is, and also big Pogba fault for choosing to be this poor when he can do better. His behavior and decline is inexcusable considering his talent and previous performances.

He's a monster at NT too Rincon... does whatever is needed and most often simply.  He was actually criticized in France last year for being too simple lol.  They wanted him to be the superstar as opposed to just doing the basics. In short, they want him to take over the game whenever the team is struggling.

It's an interesting dilemma for him.  There are strong demands for him to play with bling due to his skill set... yet he's at this best when he just plays simply.

It's a bit his own fault too.  His flamboyant style and public image feed into the bling expectation out there. Inconsistent brilliance, which is the cause for the frustration.
