Rush is up there as one of the best imo.
Moneyball, Rush, Remember The Titans is my top 3.
Boxing should be a separate category, so many great ones. Raging Bull, Rocky, Creed, Million Dollar Baby, Cinderella Man, thats an amazing top 5. Shout out to the MMA movie Warrior, that was really good.

Maybe Freeza and I relate more to the analytics behind sports and selection (which is showcased in detail in Moneyball) since we're into an American sport - the NBA

Maybe real movie isn't yet dead? Once Upon a Time in Hollywood becomes has Tarantino's highest grossing debut. Then again it got beat with a thing that is a remake with no actors.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
So I did what I said today, and I go with Kill Bill Vol. 1 as Tarantino's best. The entire saga as a whole stands strong as his best as well imo, but of course I want to narrow it down to one film.
Pulp Fiction is still amazing, however I think it gets a bit stale from "The Bonnie Situation" onwards. And I don't feel too good about Tarantino saying the N-word 3 times. I mean it's one thing writing it in context of time and history for specific characters played by other actors, but saying it yourself in a film that's time is of that when it was released - just nah from me.
The overdose scene is amazing though, probably his best scene of all-time.
The scene where they go get out the gimp is wtf bananas lol.
Amazing moments throughout but as an overall narrative it isn't that top notch imo.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I am going to watch the rest of his films to see which i think is his best.
An hour and a half into inglorious basterds....struggling to carry on. Although i am sure the 3rd act will pay off because it is building towards a classic tarantino finish. Must say, Fassbender is an incredible actor who has come in some really shit films recently (or most of his career?).

He’s only done that recently. Also hasn’t really been in anything since 2016. Only done two films in three years and those are because of existing contracts.
Alien and X-Men. Thought Alien was great, unlike a lot of people. Have no interest in watching Dark Phoenix though.
He’s rumoured to be the lead in Mel Gibson’s new film. And he’s also a lead in Kung Fury 2 which should be fun. It’s so weird there’s two Swedish directors in Hollywood named David Sandberg

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
@Freeza is it your favourite Tarantino because it's his most dramatic film? Dramatic as in it has a lot more drama element to it
I think he pulls off snappy comedic dialogue off better, not to say that Basterds doesn't have it's comedy as well. Another great thing about him is of course his vision for the movie, his editing and shot choices are always very interesting and that's why I like his earlier work in Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill saga better. I think he was at his filmmaking creative peak during that stretch. Since then he has tried to work more on his dramatic script-writing, and like I said I don't think that's his best quality.

Feels like his most complete film for me. It's the most unique of them all. There's a limited amount of meta-commentary through the dialogue. Also find the characters to be the realest, more variety in personalities.
I absolutely love Tarantino's dialogue, but often times it feels like he just writes different characters with the same voice to deliver some cool lines. I feel in Inglorious he managed to make the most distinct character gallery of all the films. Also the acting performances in this are by far my favourite of his films.
Also this one has by far the best technical filmmaking. I think he took a step back after this, which could be attributed to the death of Sally Menke.
I have Kill Bill vol1 and Reservoir Dogs in tier 1 with this one tbh.
So many of his films are absolute class though, so it's mainly a preferential judgment for most people. I just can't understand people saying Jackie Brown is his best. Feels like an incredible hipster pick, even if De Niro is absolutely incredible in that.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I see. Interestingly enough that's why I don't like Basterds that much tbh. I think he focused so much on creating characters with depth and personality, that the overall story never felt that emotionally engaging to me imo. The dialogue is definitely good, and keeps you interested, but as an overall narrative the dramatic beats don't hit that well throughout the movie to me tbh.
I know there are others out there as well though who prefer Basterds in his filmography.
At least he always tried to add something new and switch up his moods in his films throughout his career.
Is OUATIH really gunna be his last film? Read that he said that somewhere.

He's said he wanted to do 10. And he says he's made 9 with OUATIH.
His last film would then be Star Trek if he decides that.
Doubt he retires after the next one though. He's been talking about that retirement for a decade lol. He's going to come back once he gets an idea he can't not make.

My top 3 is Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained. Agree on Jackie Brown being a hipster pick, its great but nowhere near his best. I haven't watched Death Proof yet. Its commonly referred as his worst film.

Hobbs and Shaw legit shocked me more than anything I’ve watched in the last five years. Something happened that came out of nowhere and it was so worth it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Kill Bill would've been Tarantino's Magnum Opus, if it wasn't cut in two movies. 4 hour samurai revenge movie would've been an absolute epic not seen since Leone's Once Upon a Time in America. But this way they got double ticket price from a single movie. It wasn't a hack job like OUaTiA, which actually broke the greatest of directors, but I'm sure Tarantino regrets this move now.
