That looks like the preferred back line if all goes well, sagna covering for Per's lack of pace on the right, whilst Verm covers from the attack minded santos.

Where are all the people who said they didn't need a top CB

Djourou was a rock last season but is going through a rough patch. I guess we needed it, because without Vermaelen and Sagna, our whole defense can go to shit.

Great signing if true he will solve their set piece problems. Only downside about Per is he reaaaaaally lack paces.

Per's lack of pace will not be exposed in the case that he plays with Vermaelen.

Do not think of the pairing as a flat 4 that will push very high up the pitch.. but rather that they will most probably play deeper. Verm is the perfect Brawn for Per's Brain (the basis for a good pairing). Verm will do the fetching, whilst Per will lead from the back and sweep up the loose bits.

Don't think these moves change much...They're all good moves, and while they will hopefully stop the negative momentum, I still think Arsenal's final position will be what I thought it was pre-season

On this forum only them 2 are top class CB's especially DJ hes was pretty solid for 4-5months and then shit the rest of his career but yeah top dollar yo

Shaqiri has a much brighter future than Elia, if he keeps developing. He also has a screaming shot.

Bremen play with suicide tactics and were completely shit last season. Nevermind his other defensive partners, the only decent one is Naldo.

Watch Bremen this season. Do not judge Bundesliga players by their team doing crap 1 season, they go all over the table and it does not mean the team is crap. Example: Monchengladbach. From relegation to near top table right now. Dzeko who had a shit season at Wolfsburg and then is doing fine now.

He's an experienced, 70 times caped German defender.

Everyone was crying out for Arsenal to have a huge, strong CB and now that we have one we still get complaints.
