I don’t think it changes an awful lot if I'm honest, just gives Dortmund the leverage to get a lot more money than they would have.

Its good for him and Dortmund, but I believe he did that because he had no where to go or at least where he wants too, the only clubs I believe he'd leave for would've been us or Madrid, but his recent comment, "Where would I play in Barcelona?" kind gives the vibe he was smart enough to avoid us and Madrid...And he doesn't want to go to the PL. He also said he will never join Bayern either.

As Mole said it probably is to squeeze more money out of clubs.

It's a weird time for him to sign the extension, with Dortmund not going to be in the CL next season. I thought he would at least have waited to see whether they get relegated or not! xD

I think it is majorly clever. This means that a club who wants him will have to pay big money, and if he goes for big money he is pretty much always assured a starting berth, no matter what. Just look at Bale who also seems to play mainly due to his price tag atm.

Its in a way good for a club like Manchester United and worse for someone like Chelsea or Man C espacialy Man city who for instance would have been looking at getting him cheap this summer for that reported paltry rc. Now since his value will go up, ffp wont allow them to spend profusely, more than an x amount.

Reus went to City on my PES save lol, anyway he didn't say he didn't want to go to England just that he felt he's more suited to La Liga and that would be his preference.
