if I'm a Juventus fan i like the look of that team more than one with Pogba in it tbh

still think Matic is decent but he was absolute shit last season, won't hold it against him since you can say that about the entire Chelsea team bar Willian

Same tbh

We need a WC striker more than we need Pogba. Pjanic is more of a team player anyway. As GOAT as Pogba is on his day I won't miss him ignoring a through ball to try skinning somebody 3 times in a row instead.

Matic would be a fantastic signing, perfect vice Marchisio/Khedira.

Higuain, would be incredible but I still do not belief that Juve will pay the release clause, even if we also sell Zaza.

Is this sarcasm? Barzagli probably won't be dropped but he's 35 years old and doesn't have the legs to play 50 games a season

Don't you think it would be better to swap positions between Pjanic and Marchisio ?

Marchisio has been amazing playing in front of the defense but I simply can't see Pjanic as a box to box while Marchisio even at almost 31 would still do a pretty good job at that role. With Dani Alves next to him I'm not even sure if it would be necessary for him to go forward as often as he used to go during Conte's era, which would release him of some of his attacking duties and would focus on covering Alves. hmm

It was such a great Derby d'Italia, probably the best I've ever seen from the post Calciopoli era. I clearly remember going 100% crazy after Marchisio's goal Very Happy

I'm rooting for them, Dortmund and Atleti. Wouldn't even mind PSG. Hopefully it's none of Barca/Madrid/Munich.

Two years after the CL final how does this Juve compare to the team that almost won it ? did Juve regress ?

GK and defense: Pretty much the same players although age might be a factor. Benatia a compensating factor.

Wing Backs: Alves and Sandro are obviously an upgrade to Evra and Lichsteiner.

Midfield: Pogba/Vidal Pirlo Marchesio vs Khidera Pjanic Marchesio. Pirlo > pjanic, Pogba/Vidal > Khdera, Marchesio is the same player. A noticable downgrade

Attack: Dyabala might explode this season but for now lets say he's equal to the decisive Morata. Higuain is a great player but how does he compare to in godly form Tevez of 2014? For now id say the attack is equal but could be slightly better/worse depending on form

So Defense is the same, Full backs are improved, midfield is weaker and attack is pretty much the same. Is the 2014 team better overall? id say yes but it's really subjective

At the moment i write these lines, Dybala is a much better player than Morata ever was for Juve.

Higuain = Tevez
Dybala > Morata
Mandzukic > Llorente

As for the midfield Pjanic is a world-class player, while Pirlo was not on his prime in that particular season.

The 2016-2017 team has more potential/is better. The season we were CL finalists, we were seen as absolute outsiders vs Real and Barca. Not sure if everyone thinks the same now. Winning the Champions League ? I guess anything else will be considered as a failure from the medias and non-fans.

We have only downgraded by a bit in midfield. All other areas have improved. Attack has had a drastic improvement.

You have Mandzukic, Higuain and Dybala as the strikers and have options like Pjaca and potentially Cuadrado to come off the bench to take on tired defenders. We dint have that in 2014.

Midfield though has gone from Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Pirlo to Pjanic, Khedira, Asamoah and Marchisio. We need at least one more quality mid to at least be at the level of 2014 midfield.

Defense also has better depth than 2014 team. Benatia and Rugani as your bench options instead of Ogbonna and Caceres. Plus Bonucci is in his absolute prime right now with Barzagli and Chiellini still going strong.

Overall it's a better and more complete squad than 2014-15 squad. Another quality mid and there would be no debate at all as to which team is better on paper.

It's a worse team than Bayern/Madrid/Barca and so was their CL finalist squad but they are still a top 5 squad in Europe and margins are slim at this level. In-form Juve can beat off-form/injured Bayern/Madrid/Barca and luck, be it luck of the draw or luck in certain moments of a game, also play a huge role. So, yeah. They can win but they won't. Because Barca has the treble locked down already.
