Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
I absolutely dislike but it serves justice, so i can't criticize it.
Takes momentum out of the game, i prefer a more fluid calcio like it always was. They do this all the time in ice hockey/US football and it kills the show.
Not a valid argument but at least it's my honest answer.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
I liked a lot Icardi and Inter. overall (only saw the 2nd half). First goal scored by Icardi was superb.
About VAR, 2 penalties against Juventus and both of them were wrong decisions so I think the referees are just idiots. But hey, this is my opinion. Theoretically, VAR should help the refs take better decisions.

Last year Inter would have put their heads down and given up after the first Roma goal. This year they kept trying and they won. Not an great team yet, but Inter has balls this year.

VAR is good but the interpretation from the referees is downright retarded sometimes

VAR needs work but I like it so far, it's happening anyway so it must be tested at some point. Better to do it sooner than later .

Meh, not worried. Played well for 60 mins....very unlucky + Inter's attack under TGIP is just scary.
I think we'll be fine. Believe it or not, this game kinda allayed a lot of my fears.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
"Great Roma performances " = shots from distance (and 3 posts).
Not impressed from them.
I see much tactical attention on wings that lose their energy around on 60'
It was typical of Sassuolo that can finish 6th on table and getting congratulations at same time. Doubts about big teams.
That's all their constrution of game ?
The Defensive fragility is clear, on the other hand if you concede 3 - almost 4 goals at home after a match that was going to win it ...
Not easy to play with Juan Jesus though

I like how "3 posts" is shrugged off in parenthesis. Inter were VERY lucky to only be 1-0 down after 70 minutes.

A shot on the post is just mistaken shot.
IMHO you must centre the door, not the post if you want to score.
Hard to blame others if you have - simply - a bad aim.

Napoli-Atalanta is the match to watch.
2-1 now after a wonder strike from Zielinski and then a beautiful combination Insigne-Mertens.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
gonna be the year Udinese get relegated I think, don't really care now since Di Natale's retired, still, was only what? 5 years ago they were getting knocked out in the CL playoffs, didnt they do it back to back to or was it just the once. Why are they so shit now? Was Di Natale carrying them that hard? they had some decent talent IIRC. I guess they sold most of it.
