Absolutely no question that bringing him to the club was the right choice.

Re: Phil Jones
Ok, sorry about that.
I guess you could catch Gary Neville's analysis in that link, but I wouldn't know where to find separately.
Or just wait for KSA.

Phil Jones
Thats all Ill say.. Phil mother- fornicating jones.
The potential of this ball playing CB is limitless.
Sad note, Cleverley got mauled by Davies and probably has a broken bone in his foot

No need for the thread. Everyone knew he was great long before United signed him.

Re: Phil Jones
I really like him. He is a CB who really fits into the modern game. When you see him on the ball, his composure would not suggest to you that he is a defender.
He is also very versatile as well. It's clear that his main position will be as a CB, but when United are short in numbers, they will be able to call on him to play elsewhere.

Re: Phil Jones
Anyway Gil, hes a Utd player. May as well document this before he has a bad 2 months inbetween 5 years of greatness which will always be held against him ala Rooney.
Slowly Jones will be discredited until the famed Utd mental strength covering ordinary players is in use...

Unlucky to not score the goal, it would of been of a great first goal.

Re: Phil Jones
Just saying everyone who's seen him before knows he'll be one of the best CB's in the World in the near future.
Anyway who do you think is the better prospect between him and Smalling?

As a CB, I think that Smalling is the better prospect out of the two, but as I said Jones is very versatile and can cover several positions.Gil wrote:Just saying everyone who's seen him before knows he'll be one of the best CB's in the World in the near future.

Phil Jones
I find it odd how no one has mentioned here just how good this kid has been at United. Only 19 but is playing well week in week out, in different positions- RB, CB and CM and in all positions he has been really good.
Has scored 2 goals too. Seriously, this guy is a world class player in the making. He has all the attributes and the fact that all the top 4 clubs wanted is being proven with every game he plays.
He was great today v QPR.

Good talent, but I don't really like him at CB. Still very raw, though.

Re: Phil Jones
it looks like the kid can play anywhere, i still think he's a natural cb, but he's doin a decent job for us in midfield. i think its great to see leadership and confidence in someone so young, the next Duncan Edwards
