Irish_Catalan_Scouser wrote:If that's the case, Fletcher could be a bench player?
Fletcher does'nt have the technical ability of Jones and iam not sure Jones would be used in that role full time but in special circumstances i would'nt be suprised if he was deployed as DM/3rd CB.
Something that which was a glaring omission from Man Utd in the final was someone who could pressurize, protect the back four and give a pass to more creative midfielders and wingers.
Add Modric to the mix, with Rooney dropping deep and great wingplay from Nani and Valencia and then suddenly Utd become a different animal entirely and one that could'nt really be accused of lacking ability in midfield like some people might atm.

Either one of Carrick or Fletcher should be on the bench imo.

Based on your signature, I would prefer to keep Carrick on the field.

Re: Phil Jones
They stole him over night............just like Roy Keane deal of 20 years ago
hope he fails his medical....Blackburn are really United's bitch. MUTV FC is the only station there, and the moment they recieved similar offers from both teams, it was obvious they were gonna sell him to United.
Hope them and with their awful owners go down and never come back up. Bag of c*nts

Re: Phil Jones
Seriously this is a top class signing from United. He's basically John Terry with pace.
Hopefully they don't get Sneijder/Modric as well.

lets just add 5-7 mil to those 18 we were disposed to pay and get Cahill.
other than him i wouldnt be as pleased with the likes of Dann or Lovren...

Re: Phil Jones
Cahill is shit. Let him go to Arsenal or City.
Cahill is poor man's Jones
No other English CB is good better than what we already have....time to go foreign for CB, I think. real shame

It's England man.
remember Fergie paid 30M for Rooney when he hadn't even hit puberty 8 years ago (which would be equivalent of 50M in today's market).
English market is very different

No doubt Jones will be worth more than 30 when Fergie is done with him ,but United are not really in a strong financial situation especially since they will need to sign some bigger players after Rooney was promised big signings.

Rejecting Arsenal and Liverpool for ManU was a good call IMO.
Hoping this is good for the national team now too
Doesn't surprise me picking ManU any day of the week.
