Anyway its obvious Fergie has realised he cant persist with the 4-4-2 and have success the system is just shat and everyone who has success in england is starting to realise it or already have.

So it all makes sense.

heard a lot of talk between him and united lately. But i wouldn't be surprise if he reconsider and stay at dortmund for more successes and action Smile

TBH the chatter in the rumor mill is so loud already, I pretty much resigned to him going to United.

I dont want Man United to get stronger .lol

You say that but watch BVB's counters its so akin to Utd at its best in the CR7, Tevez etc etc days.....

He will fit in like a glove imo and Arsenal have enough players in his position anyways.....

Fantastic signing from a Man Utd point of view but i dont want to see BVB broken up(

What a Face

The Reus - Kagawa - Götze attacking line would have been pretty great. However, I don't think Dortmund is that bad off without Kagawa. I'm not even sure they need a direct replacement, especially after the Reus transfer.

Götze is coming back after missing the entire second half of the season. Reus is joining the team. Plus, they have a few good players on the bench to throw into the mix.

They could just play like this:

Lewandowski
Reus Götze Kuba
Bender Gündogan

I regard that line up as stronger than the one they've mostly used in 2012 so far. Reus isn't any worse than Kagawa, just slightly different. He's also better than Großkreutz. I consider Götze to be better than Kagawa. The rest of the line up is unchanged (an injury-free Bender displaces Kehl again).

Another possibility, which makes use of Großkreutz' defensive abilities and puts Kuba to the bench:

Lewandowski
Großkreutz Götze Reus
Bender Gündogan

Also, Gündogan's natural position prior to this season was at AM, which is why he struggled with the CM role he had to play as Sahin's replacement at first. A possibility would be to use him at AM, even though he has done brilliantly at CM in recent months. As an attacking midfielder, I regard him as equal to Kawaga, however, after now having played a season at CM, Gündogan's defensive skills have improved as well.
Leitner is young, but did well whenever he came on this season. I expect him to improve next season and be on a level with the others. He's considered a big talent and has hinted at his potential quite a few times:

Lewandowski
Reus Gündogan Götze
Bender Leitner

In the second half of the 2010/11 season, Kagawa was out with a broken foot. At first, Götze was used in the center; later, Götze went back to the right flank and Lewandowski was used in the 'hole', as a supporting striker behind Barrios. With Barrios gone, Dortmund will buy a new striker to replace him. They have enough money from the Barrios and Kagawa transfers. This opens up the possibility of using the aforementioned system with Lewandowski and the new striker both playing:

New Striker
Reus Lewandowski Götze
Bender Gündogan

In the youth teams, Leitner also often played on the wings and did very well:

Lewandowski
Reus Götze Leitner
Bender Gündogan

Plus, there's Perisic for LW and another great talent in Bittencourt for the AM role.

So, overall, I think Dortmund are settled when it comes to attackers, with or without Kagawa. Buying a replacement for Barrios is more important as well as investing a bit in the depth of their squad, which is necessary for the CL. Of course, their bench this season was quite good already, but a few of those bench players will leave.

Where would Kagawa fit in at Man united? I really see this becoming a new Sahin tbh.

if kagawa will join manutd, then sneijder will remain in inter then ...

he will definitely join manutd, new report suggest he has already met fergie ...

i like most fans dont understand why manutd prestige became obsession for him now. above anything, he has so much love and support at dortmund he fits perfectly there. and klopp loves him, i doubt fergie will ever care for him more than klopp does, fergie would never run out of his seat and run all the way to celebrate with kagawa like klopp does.

i dont think it would be dortmund loss though, it would be his.

Post by The Messiah Tue Nov 27, 2012 3:27 pm

There are news from Spain suggesting that Dortmund are ready to snatch up the former Bremen player, I hope they add Sahin as well. I hate how Madrid destroyed Sahin and now Oezil.

Unless Dortmund coughs up roughly 30m no transfer will be made.

You know Madrid sell cheap. We got Robben for less than 20 million and Inter got Sneijder for how much and Hunterlaar.

It's about that time when Madrid panic and start selling for cheap.

Oezil is not a substitute, he's better than both Kaka and Modric.

Oezil and Sahin must now leave Madrid and return to bundesliga, I hope Oezil comes to Dortmund and Sahin to Schalke 04

What's the situation with Ozil? I know he has been playing but when I watch RM in the CL they play Modric instead. Has he been underperforming?

If Dortmund could afford this and Madrid sanctioned it (which I doubt)

They would have an fantastic trio in behind a fairly prolific striker.

Ozil had a poor start last season and there were rumours of him leaving etc etc. Then he stepped up in the 2nd half of the season.
