That's true. The team defended as a whole and attacked as a whole. Textbook performance and Messi is just Messi but it's not like he's doing everything on his own. We've allowed 0 shots on our goal.

well, i completely agree that Barca is more than just Messi....this season we have done tremendous improvement in set pieces and overall defending. something could not be seen for long time. then we have two goat keepers making important saves every now and then. Suarez and Neymar both big game player scoring in big times. So if they would not be able to finish, Messi's creativity would mean nothing.
but i cant agree with you about Bayern thrashing...Bayern did not score thanks to their poor forward line more than our great piece of defending. they were complete clueless upfront and Barca team ability had nothing to do with it. look at the 2 particular occasions when they were 4 v 3 of our defenders. they choked completely. and the Muller cross taht tore our defense apart . We played a great game but this game was not great example of our great team defending. Bayern lacked ability in scoring partly for their poor form and partly for their game plan. Therefore, the thrashing credit largely deserved by Messi. A distant second goes to Alves and Rakitic.
But the tie will be decided by team effort not by Messi because we have to put a solid performance overall in Germany.
